<p class="ql-align-justify"><strong style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); color: rgb(25, 135, 84);">Prof. Begum Sharifun Naher </strong><span style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); color: rgb(25, 135, 84);">has graduated from Sir Salimullah Medical College (SSMC) in 1985. After completing in-service training in Mitford Hospital for 1 year she joined at IPGM and R (Institute of post graduate Medicine and Research) as honorary house physician in the department of pediatrics and worked for 2 years. In 1988 she started government service as Assist Surgeon at Najirpur Upojela of Pirojpur district. Later on she did fellowship (FCPS) in pediatrics from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS) in 1993. Her fellow number is 630. She did MD in general pediatrics from Dhaka University in 1999 and again MD in sub speciality like Neonatology from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in 2009. In addition she received a short training on Neonatology from Japan. She was involved in teaching and training of students, doctors, nurses and paramedics. She conducted professional exams as examiner of DU, BSMMU and BCPS. She mentored post graduate students of FCPS, MD courses and supervised their thesis. She performed her duties as moderator several times in BCPS and BSMMU. She participated in many seminars, workshops, national and international conferences of home and abroad as speaker and chairperson. She has special interest in birth defect and breast feeding activities.</span></p><p class="ql-align-justify"><span style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); color: rgb(25, 135, 84);">Now she is Vice President of Bangladesh Neonatal forum, treasurer of Bangladesh Perinatal Society and member of board of trustee (BOT) of Bangladesh breast feeding foundation (BBF). She has 32 publications in national and international journal. She was in Govt. service for 33 years and retired as Professor and Head of Neonatology from SSMC in 2021. Currently she is working as Chief consultant of Neonatology in Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) of Green Life Hospital.
