Shahinur Rahman is the pioneer fellow in Thoracic Surgery of the Bangladesh College of Physicians &amp; Surgeons. He obtained superspecialty qualification in 2009 and afterwards, through his personal initiative, dedication and hard work established a fully functional Thoracic Surgery department in Combined Military Hospital, Dhaka.</span></li><li data-list="bullet"><span class="ql-ui" contenteditable="false"></span><span style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); color: rgb(0, 35, 85);">He obtained extensive training in Bangladesh and abroad. He organized, participated and presented papers in national and international seminars, symposiums and workshops.</span></li><li data-list="bullet"><span class="ql-ui" contenteditable="false"></span><span style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); color: rgb(0, 35, 85);">He is competent at open and minimal invasive (VATS) Thoracic Surgeries. He regularly performs surgeries of Esophagus, Lungs, Pleura, Mediastinum and chest wall.</span></li><li data-list="bullet"><span class="ql-ui" contenteditable="false"></span><span style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); color: rgb(0, 35, 85);">He received training on VATS from Singapore, China and Turkey, and propagated VATS procedure among Thoracic Surgeons in Bangladesh.</span></li><li data-list="bullet"><span class="ql-ui" contenteditable="false"></span><span style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); color: rgb(0, 35, 85);">Dr. Md. Shahinur Rahman performs mediastinal surgeries without any incision in the chest through subxiphoid VATS. He also performs minimal invasive Thoracic Sympathectomy for intractable palmar hyperhydrosis (sweating) of palms and Thymectomy for Myesthenia Gravis with excellent outcomes.</span></li><li data-list="bullet"><span class="ql-ui" contenteditable="false"></span><span style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); color: rgb(0, 35, 85);">He is an active member of Bangladesh Association for Thoracic Surgery (BATS) and currently the Vice President of this organization.</span></li></ol><p><br></p>
